| Location Mathildelaan Next to the Mathildelaan lies the ‘Stadionkwartier’. This project is just like Strijp-S and the ‘Emmasingelkwadrant’, part of the large-scale urban developments along the West corridor. This project atunes the construction mass for living and working to the central urban surroundings. The contrast between the high and lower constructions is an attractive aspect that is fitting this type urban environment. The design of the ‘Stadionkwartier’ is lead by architectural firm Van Aken. The design exists of four quadrants. These are separated by two streets. These streets are the extensions of the ‘Lijsterbesstraat’ and the ‘Annastraat’. Therefore the street patterns connect the ‘Stadionkwartier’ with the street patterns of the Philips village. In the two northern quadrants offices will be located. This way the office function is extended from the centre of Eindhoven to the direction of Strijp-S. The two Southern quadrants are intended for living. A maximum of 500 apartments with a car park are planned for this area. Every quadrant exists of a court with houses around it. The courts will have a green look and are visible and accessible from the Frederiklaan. The houses will differ in height. The buildings have five, six, nine or thirteen construction layers with a gradual transition to the Philips village. The building with the thirteen construction layers will be located near the Philips Stadium and as a result partly screens the noise. |
