Raumlabor Berlin, an inter-disciplinary team, explores the Zeitgeist in urban contexts and develops strategies for urban renewal. Their research and design focuses on nomadic systems, temporary architecture and landscaping, responsive environments and urban interventions. They are invited to present a site-specific version of their kitchen monument, an oversized bubble that nestles up against its environment, in this case an ensemble of trees in the middle of the street. Its skin becomes a projection screen and its inside will offer a sanctuary of warmth. Plastique Fantastique explores the potential of urban spaces by pneumatic interventions modulated by projections and lighting effects. Their inflated spaces inhabit chosen environments on a temporary base fathoming their specific architectural and landscaping qualities. Their installations are made to be experienced from the outside as well as inside. |
