Interview

What was the first art / design / architecture work that impressed you?
The first art work that impressed us is the courtyard of the old houses of Damascus; it is the space which has the sky as a roof. It is a space of light and freedom located in the centre of a closed space.

How do you reflect on light as a material or media in your work?
Light is not only a material or a medium, it can be one of the main keys in our art work. That is not only in the installation-art works but also it can sometimes play the same key role on the surface of a canvas.

What was the guiding interest in your conceptual approach of your work we see during GLOW?
The UPPER world, and the way we all try to converse with what we cannot spot. The MOVEMENT and the shape it creates. The continuality and the eternity are all question marks for "Ayn".

"Guessing and dreaming, they pursue the real, faces turned toward the sky whispering secrets to the heavens." (Al Hallaj)

What made it interesting to work in Eindhoven?
Eindhoven allows us to interact with the audience more, as it gives us the chance to exhibit my art work in a street or a square between people.

What kind of respond do you expect from the audience?
I expect the audience to live "Ayn".
