GLOW lives. Not only with the organizers, the municipality or the artists involved. But most of all with the inhabitants of Eindhoven. Eindhoven and light, that is the combination that fits the character of the city. Eindhoven as city of light and inspiration for new ideas and inventions. Half of all pending patents in the Netherlands come from our region. Investments in research and development aren’t that big in any other region of our country. And light symbolizes the character of this region. A region that is sensitive for the economic situation, which feels the impact at First. The first signs show that we will overcome this. And that shows that GLOW is part of Eindhoven and its inhabitants. As a shining example of the opportunities the city offers. Eindhoven is in 2009 in the spotlights again for ten days. Light shown through many variations, this year as its central theme "Being Public". The public space in the spotlight. Our Town as the most creative city in the Netherlands. Dear Visitor, GLOW takes place for the fourth time already and GLOW has an adult status these days. The regional and international media think positively about the festival. A light project which was developed specifically for Eindhoven has even won a prestigious prize in America. With an increase to 125,000 visitors GLOW is also closed in the hearts of residents and visitors from out of town. The growth of the festival has led into a larger number of art projects and cultural participation of partners in the city this year. We have more business partners united in the "friends of GLOW". Also we want to thank our sponsors and suppliers for their support of the festival.
