“You can’t just cut out the perfect wave and take it home”

Notre Dame Ever since her visit to the Notre Dame in Paris as a 13-year old girl, Eva-Maria Joeressen was fascinated by the phenomenon of light. “How beautiful the light came inside the church through the colorful stained-glass windows and led to new experiences, that has made an indelible impression on me”. Since 8 years Eva-Maria Joeressen and Klaus Kessner co-operate: “We have a great interest in cultural history, how things come and go, also in film as a living medium. We seek the beauty of movement. It’s like the legendary Jimi Hendrix once said “Music is like the waves of the ocean. You can’t just cut out the perfect wave and take it home with you. It’s constantly moving all the time ...”.

Intuition “At an earlier visit to Eindhoven, we visited the church and were impressed by its potential as an art space. When curator Bettina Pelz offered us this location, we immediately said yes.”

Passing “GLOW takes place in November, it can be cold and dull outside. We hope that the public will look up the warmth of the church and then will take the time to enjoy unique experiences, caused by the passing images and sounds. See our art as a game of dice, the rules are known, but every throw shows a unique combination and sum”.
