Since 1987 Berry van Egten is a lighting designer and he stands for innovative, functional and efficient lighting solutions for architectural and urban spaces, commercial environments and private homes. In his creative work his professional standards are as important to him as social and ecological contexts. Since 1993 he teaches lighting design, amongst others in Alingsas and Wismar.
The river Dommel and its banks is one of the profiling parts of the city of Eindhoven since it received city rights in 1232. For GLOW Berry van Egten designs a site-specific lighting what is based on the interplay of darkness, color and light, water and mist to shine one of the dark spots of the city by night.
