Project: In an other light

Central subject of the collective work of the artists Holger Mader and Alexander Stublic and the architect Heike Wiermann is the investigation of and the play with the mechanisms of human perception in public space. To direct gazes towards the city’s appearances their site-specific interventions based on digital media projection reinterpret viewpoints and perspectives of architectural sceneries in urban spaces.
The Hooghuis is one of the buildings hosting the government administration. As a landmark it overlooks the city’s center. Under the projection of Mader Stublic Wiermann the architectural frame and the surface is remodeled. The projection shifts from abstract geometric sequences induced from the present architecture to fictive figurative structures, moving (along) the building and hoodwinking its appearance.
