Project: People of Day and Night
Location: Van de Schootterrein and along the GLOW route
Armrock restates the qualities of artistic drawings and transfers them into urban contexts. Known for his life-sized drawings of humans at the edges of societies, he glues his drawings on paper on buildings and walls in city environments. As observations and statements they become ephemeral part of public space and community.
For GLOW, Armsrock works for the first time with projection technologies instead of paper-based drawings. His “People of Day and Night” are based on his impressions while he spent some time in the streets of Eindhoven. His artistic documentation of his first impressions, of faces and atmospheres, moves and moments are present in his highly detailed drawings. For the projections he transfers them on exposed film material.
