“We encourage people to immerse themselves in Bulbes”

Matrix “The installation consists of up to 64 large (1000W, 20cm diameter) lightbulbs organized in square or rectangular matrix. The bulbs are hanging from the ceiling at about one meter from the floor, arranged so as to generate acoustic resonances as well as light. There is a bulb-free area that allows one to see the installation from a distance, but we are encouraging people to get inside the setup and then immerse themselves in the performance with joy, tears and fascination”.

GLOW “We are happy to participate at GLOW, we feel light is essential, be it through video, traditional light sources or light-producing physical reactions. But we are not light artists, as sound is equally important”.

New media “Our interest for new media technology stems from a desire to reveal new forms of expressivity through digital processes. Tightly integrating hardware and software, our artistic work is the result of attempts to think beyond media, in a realm where sound, images and processes cohabit and answer to each other in meaningful way. We are also a bit reactionairy, but in a subterranean way. Artificiel supports the creation of projects that share artistic preoccupations which are compatible with the tools and workflows developed by the studio, insisting always on the necessity of having a constant dialogue between the artistic idea, its implementation, and the context of its appreciation”.
