We are Dämmstoffmafia and we´re steadily growing as an experimental plattform for and by students at the seminar for integrated design at the Academy of the Arts in Bremen.

Dämmstoffmafia (the insulation materials racket) was founded by five design students in spring 2006. We´ve grown to almost two dozen members. Our experiment has evolved into a permanent cooperative at the Academy, supported by Dorothea Mink, professor for fashion design and experimental design.

Dämmstoffmafia presents biannual collections of hand made unicums in small, limited editions. Our motto is "products the world doesn´t need but urgently wants". We´re operating in the underground. Our store is made from cardboard. We only set it up at select events, do our business and disappear again.

On these occasions our customers can admire, touch and purchase our handmade exhibits for appropriate protection money.

That is our contribution to make the world a funnier, more curious or just more beautiful place.
