New talent gets every opportunity at GLOW Eindhoven 2018
Light art festival GLOW Eindhoven has been involved in the attraction and facilitation of new talent in the field of light art and technology for many years and sees itself as a hotbed for ‘bright talents’ to stimulate and attract new talent. In achieving this, GLOW works with for example Stichting Foederer Talentenfonds. The project that wins the Foederer Talent Award will be visible in all its glory on The Student Hotel during GLOW Eindhoven 2018.
Winning light art project Divided Spaces
The winner of the Foederer Talent Award 2018 was announced today. From the dozens of submissions for this competition 8 finalists were selected who worked on GLOW’s theme this year: ‘Shadows & Light’. Tuesday 11 September, they pitched their ideas before a professional jury.
The jury was unanimous, the winners are Jelle van Meerendonk and Paulina Zybinska. In the creation of their light art work they looked at the entire spectrum of light. They extracted four elements from this that are not yet discernible to the human eye, like the microwaves in an oven. From four hotel rooms in the Student Hotel these four elements will be made artistically visible for the public with the help of projection.
Stichting Foederer Talentenfonds
Crowe Foederer established the Stichting Foederer Talentenfonds to offer talented individuals in creative and technology industries a stage to develop and be successful. This is why Stichting Foederer Talentenfonds actively seeks collaboration with parties such as GLOW Eindhoven and Studium Generale - TU/e.
GLOW Eindhoven is a major exhibition in public spaces in Eindhoven with around 35 local, national and international light artists. The light art projects are linked through a free 5-km walk through the centre of the city. There are various light projects along the route; innovative and unique projects, work by young talents, sustainable projects to create awareness and a number of major highlights.
GLOW Eindhoven is being organised for the 13th time this year and will take place from 10 until 17 November 2018. Last year this free event attracted 740,000 visitors to the city.
