The jury was unanimous and called Jonas Vorwerk as the winner of the Foederer Talent Award. A visual artist who was brought up in Eindhoven but currently lives in Rotterdam. The light artwork he presented is called ‘Lichthouders’ (Light holders’) Large, luminous circles that make a sound, based on the ‘footprint’ of the old gas factory at the NRE site. The jury explained their decision and said that the combination in Jonas’ work of art between light and sound and the connection with the city of Eindhoven were the decisive factors.
