And then there was GLOW

Going from 45 000 visitors in 2006 to over 770 000 in 2019 is not just a matter of numbers. In 15 years, GLOW has evolved from a recurring, single week event to a cherished Eindhoven citizen. One that’s active, entrepreneurial, looking for new doors to open every single day. Letting its large fanbase as well as new visitors enjoy the pinnacle of light art the Eindhoven way - at the home of light art, design and innovation.

The festival in November is one enormous light art exposition in the public space of Eindhoven. Over 35 national and international light artists exhibit their works of art along a walking route in the city centre. It is the culmination of one, two or even more years of working, experimenting and perfecting together. Every edition has a specific theme which is presented to the light artists to incorporate in their work of art, giving it their own and free interpretation.

The Team

The festival comes into being under the guidance of director Ronald Ramakers and his team. The success of the festival relies on the city of Eindhoven, habitat of light, stage for light art in public space. The city that lets artful, technical and creative individuals confidently realize their dreams - knowing that the community will always have their backs. The support of partners, sponsors, volunteers, city guides, inhabitant, companies and educational institutions is of an immense value for the realisation of the festival.
