Valerie van Zuijlen wins Foederer Talent Award 2019

Valerie van Zuijlen has won the Foederer Talent Award 2019 with her project Moonlight. The winning  project 'Moonlight' will receive a prominent place in the main GLOW route at the Steentjeskerk.

Valerie will receive a handsome budget so that she can let her moon bounce project Moonlight shine during GLOW Eindhoven. In collaboration with Jan van Muijlwijk and Harry Keizer from the national monument radio telescope Dwingeloo, Valerie has literally turned Moonlight into an alien light show. This is because sound will actually be sent to the moon that will return as light to the Steentjeskerk.

During this edition, last year’s FTA-winners, Jelle van Meerendonk and Paulina Zybinska, will be presenting their new project 'Elemental Fusion' on part of the façade of the Steentjeskerk. It is not without reason that the Steentjeskerk has earned itself the name as ‘House of Talents’ this year!

The quality of the work by all nine finalists was extremely high. Which explains why for the first time it has been decided to place another two excellent projects and talents in the spotlights. The Jury considered Mitosis by Studio Ricky van Broekhoven and Transience Machine by Studio Nando (Nando Dolleman) of such quality that they were more than worthy of inclusion, so that the GLOW Eindhoven organisers found them a spot on the 2019 main route.

GLOW EINDHOVEN and Stichting Foederer Talentenfonds

The Foederer Talent Award is an annual competition from Stichting Foederer Talentenfonds, a Crowe Foederer initiative. To offer talented individuals in the creative and technology industries a stage on which to develop and succeed.

During this seventh edition the collaboration with GLOW Eindhoven has again been further intensified; in the early years the FTA was a side project, but since 2017 it has grown successfully thanks to the opportunities offered to become a mature project on the main GLOW Eindhoven route. Previous participants and winners now exhibit around the world and are again actively stimulated by GLOW Eindhoven.
