Crowe Talent Award

Crowe Talent Award

In the preceding months, a number of student teams have been working on their projects in the form of the so-called GLOWlabs. They were supported in this by the GLOW Academy in collaboration with the TU/e Intelligent Lighting Institute (ILI). During GLOW 2021 there were seven student projects on the TU/e campus that qualified for the Crowe Talent Award 2021. With this leading prize, the GLOW Academy and Crowe Foederer put young talent in the spotlight. This gave them the opportunity to show their work to a wide, international audience.

The prize winner of the professional jury was announced by the jury on Thursday evening 11 November. The winner was the 'Wayfinding & Stoytelling' project with interactive, luminescent mushrooms with which you could find your way around the TU campus and at the same time listen to more information about the other student projects via QR codes. With this they won an incentive budget of € 2500 to further develop their concept.

New this year was the audience award. Online the public could vote for her favorite student project. The winner of the audience award is TEAM IGNITE with 'The Ballroom'. With The Ballroom, TEAM IGNITE wanted to stimulate a sense of connection between the visitors of GLOW at a time where this is increasingly needed. The TEAM IGNITE invited the GLOW audience to take a look at the modern ballroom located in the Markthal. There they could dance with each other, but also with 12 radiant dancers. These dancers, in the form of rays of light, were gracefully looking for a dance partner who wanted to take a dance with them to the music of the student orchestra Quadrivium. The visitors were detected anonymously by means of infrared imaging. The beam of light followed the chosen dance partner in such a way that a dance developed between the two. The result was a veritable ballroom filled with colour, music and dance.
GLOW and Crowe believe it is essential that new and existing talent is given the space to discover and develop his or her qualities. Everyone should be given the opportunity to show their talents. To be able to grow and flourish. Through the GLOW Academy and the Crowe Talent Award, young talent is given the opportunity to gain knowledge and experience in certain fields of work and is supported and advised by professionals.
